We’re still marveling at how tons of men, including our own label conscious fashion stylist Brad, braved the cold weather to stand in line at H&M in New York for a chance to snag Donatella Versace’s limited edition fiery hot pink suit. The suit went on sale at 8 a.m. on November 19th and sold out in 20 minutes.
Brad scored two of the coveted pink suits. “I got one for me and one for a client,” said Brad, who loves to defy the odds and achieve the impossible. “I plan to wear mine to a Christmas party next month and be a fine-looking man in pink.”
If emulation is the highest form of flattery, Italian fashion visionary Elsa Schiaparelli is blowing kisses from heaven. In 1936 she caused a stir when she introduced this same color as her trademark color. She called it “shocking pink,” and its fame led to the 1937 unveiling of her legendary “Shocking” perfume.

It is a bit unfortunate, but because our society is generally so focused on image and beauty, it is very important for people in the professional world, and particularly women, to stay stylish. Of course, for some people this comes more naturally than for others. However, there is no denying the fact that a well-dressed, and stylistically up-to-date woman, is often seen as more professionally desirable and impressive than a woman with less care or sense for fashion. This is why many women would do well to start looking into high-end fashion, so as to gain access to more impressive or more fashionable sets of clothing. After all, you may be a simple wardrobe update away from being taken more seriously at work!
The first step in updating your wardrobe to be more impressive or more professional is to simply buy the same clothes from a more reliable brand. For example, if you are used to buying your jeans and denim wear from a local department store or less expensive vendor, you may want to switch your focus to a more respectable fashion label such as J Brand. Of course, it is not as if you will be showing off your label to people at work. However, you may be surprised to see how apparent the difference between ordinary jeans and higher quality ones is. Wearing nicer jeans may just make you seem more impressive or powerful.
If you work in an environment in which you will be wearing jeans less frequently, of course, you may also want to consider updating your wardrobe with some nicer clothing. Fortunately, there are plenty of high-end fashion designers that are sensitive to the fact that women in the workplace often strive to impress with their clothing. Therefore, there are plenty of options for nicer, more business-appropriate clothing that will be of striking enough quality and will look strong enough to virtually guarantee increased respect at work. Even just a few of these outfits can go a long way toward improving your standing in the workplace.
Again, it is a bit of a shame that these things must be taken so seriously. However, on the plus side, it can be a bit fun to update your wardrobe with higher quality clothing, even if it might cost you a little bit extra. After all, if it were to come down to dressing the way that you usually do, or dressing to impress and being taken more seriously at work, you would surely pick the latter approach!
